Entry for January 13, 2008 ![]() As we returned to Princeton Harbor from a wildlife tour on Monterey Bay, we saw this boat docked at the fish market, with a load of empty crab pots. Dungeness crab is the winter catch for many of the local salmon-fishing crews. This craft was new to me, but I fell for all the exciting shapes and lines on her deck--and behind her on the pier.
This painting feels like one of my very best yet: I am getting more adventurous, taking risks by changing the colors to fit the mood and coping with greater complexity in the patterns I use. This is "Day's End", 14 x 20 watercolor on paper, my latest painting. Carol 2008-01-13 23:17:27 GMT
