"Alviso Barn" has been developing since a rainy morning in July when I stopped by an old haunt of mine on the south edge of the San Francisco Bay. I was there to meet a group of artist friends and paint outdoors but because of my denseness we never quite found each other. But I fell in love with this scene all over again while waiting. The old barn is one I have meant to paint for years, having lots of pioneer feeling about it. The tower above the roof line is the housing for the water pump for the ranch. The house is another gem just out of sight. A treasure I may get to in future efforts.
