The painting with the working title "Skipper"--begun two weeks ago-- is just finished today! Numerous artistic and personal issues held up progress. At least I have begun to allow myself more time to finish works when interruption threatens. This was not always the case.

Still the tension is unpleasant for me until the work is done. I have always been one who prefers resolution to loose ends.

I think of this fisherman as seeking the key to his boat in his pocket, and in a way this art work is about a key. The small commercial fisherman and his or her methods are really the key to the ocean's health. And the ocean's health is basic to the well-being of the planet.

Overnight I have been inspired to call this painting "The Key to Everything". Yesterday's reflections above are related to this idea. I'll be interested to hear what you think.
