Entry for April 10, 2007 ![]() Here is a later improved version of "Groaning Gurdy". I hope you think the darker parts on the right and on the yellow pants improve the overall design. This work is just 11 x 14, one in a series of smaller format paintings I have been working on lately. I would like to offer something interesting and appealing to those for whom my usual formats are too expensive. If you are in the Bay Area, I hope you come to my Open Studio on May 12 and 13, 11 am to 5 pm, at 1183 W Olive Avenue, in Sunnyvale. It's near the intersection of El Camino Real and Bernardo Ave. Other artists are very welcome--as are browsers, well-wishers, idea-stealers, etc. I have a secret process for giving my paintings the luminous quality of actual daylight, so I am not very worried about losing my unique look--unless someone convinces me to show how I work from beginning to end. (Have you got a week or two?)

Definitely an improvement in the overall pattern of darks. Subtle but good. Keep it up, Carol!
