Entry for November 15, 2006 ![]() Here's a Utah scene from along Federal Highway 50. One of the wild shapes created by eons of volcanic activity, erosion, and wind in the huge area called the Great Basin.
This watercolor was painted on hot press paper, which I rarely use anymore since I have adopted cold press as my standard paper. But the colors are softer, and some interesting textures emerge because the pigment stays mostly on top of hot press paper. 2006-11-15 21:40:54 GMT

you should write a book of composition and put this on the cover, it's absolutely perfectly spaced cheers, gord --gord leverton <http://leverton.wordpress.com>

Your encouragement means a lot! I'm glad you like this painting the way it is--and especially the composition. I took great care with that.
