A dreamy mood recalling a pleasant visit with friends John and Nhung to Pigeon Point was the state of mind in which I painted "Whalers' Cove." Just dry and photographed, this painting is definitely my latest "boast of the coast!" It is based on photos I took in spring of the Pacific from the hills near a lighthouse that used to serve the whaling, fishing, and pirating enterprises that once flourished just west of Sunnyvale over the coastal ridge. I hope you like this new direction, emphasizing sky and water that I am pursuing.
